Democrat El Paso Mayor Allegedly Lied About Being Pressured By Biden Administration On Handling Migrant Crisis

El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser was called out by City Council member Claudia Rodriguez Wednesday for being untruthful. Rodriguez said the Democratic mayor lied about being pressured by the White House not to declare a state of emergency on the migrant influx in the city.

According toF ox News, Leeser denied Rodriguez’s allegation and insisted that the decision was made on his own accord. In an interview with Dana Perino of America’s Newsroom, Leeser said he was not urged by the Biden administration to make the decision which was speculated as a means to preserve the president’s image.

"Absolutely not," Leeser told Perino when asked about his decision. "One of the things we need to learn and really make sure we do is that we take the politics out of this.” “We have human lives here,” the mayor added.

But contradictory to what the mayor said, video footage from September during a city council meeting, shows Leeser addressing the council saying the chief of the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) does not support declaring a state of emergency at the time.

Rodriguez made this statement clear as a contradicting statement to what Leeser had recently said pointing out that his comments have taken on a political color. The city council member earlier expressed much concern about the surge of migrants coming into El Paso and had asked Leeser to reconsider his decision to declare a state of emergency. Rodriguez said the mayor declined because the White House was against it.

At the same time, Jesse Watters of Fox News also played the video clip of Leeser saying, “Our congresswoman has urged for us not to do that and our county judge does not support that at this point. We may have to do that. I mean, there’s going to be a point where we may have to do that but at this point, and the White House has asked at this point for us not to do that.”

Democratic mayor Eric Adams of New York City oddly has kept mum on the issues about El Paso’s migrant crisis, which comparably has bused more migrants than New York City.
